Jesst A Dream Leads Third Day Of Training Races

Ty Wyant

R.D. Hubbard and Grady Stowe’s Jesst A Dream won the third of 13 training races on Wednesday with the day’s quickest mark of :16.011 for 300 yards.

The Ruidoso Downs’ summer season starts on May 27 with the first of two days of trials to the Grade 1, $1 million Ruidoso Futurity. The Mr Jess Perry-sired Jesst A Dream’s racing debut will probably come in the 350-yard trials.

The Mike Joiner-trained Jesst A Dream, a $38,000 purchase at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, easily won her training race by nearly one length under a hand ride from Cody Jensen.

Ronnie B. Keller and Ronnie S. Keller’s Rogue Cartel raced to a :16.044 time for the second fastest mark. A Corona Cartel gelding trained by Russell Harris, Rogue Cartel pulled away under a hand ride from Larry Payne.

Rogue Cartel was a $32,000 purchase at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
