Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale Remains Up With Strong Second Session Results

The second session of the three-night Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale continued its strong showing with a second night of a 7.5-percent increase and 15 yearlings changing hands for $100,000 or more.

All results are for per horse sold final.

There were two yearlings that sold for more than $200,000.

Fly The Coup topped the offering at $250,000. The Favorite Cartel-sired colt was purchased by Lana Merrick Bailey, Bradbury Racing, Jimmy Harrel and Marilyn Harrel from Burns Ranch, Inc. Agent.

The colt is out of Grade 1 Golden State Million runner-up Babe On The Fly, who finished second in the Grade 1 Golden State Futurity. She has produced eight stakes winners, including Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby winner and Grade 1 All American Gold Cup winner Rock You along with Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity winner Little Talks, a sister to Fly The Coup.

Ms Apollitical Jess sold for $200,000 to Michael and Beth Harper from the 6666 Ranch, agent for Sam W. Green.

The daughter of Apollitical Jess was produced by Ms Southern Dynasty, the dam of two Grade 1 winners. She is the dam of Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity winner Uptown Dynasty and 2019 Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner Uptowne Babe.

The third high-seller, at $180,000, was Prize Fight, a son of Mr Jess Perry and produced by three-time stakes winning producer Fast Prize Corona.

Prize Fight was consigned by 6666 Ranch for Weetona Stanley and Burnett Ranches LLC. He was purchased by Dr. Glenn Blodgett.

Fast Prize Corona is the dam of Grade 1 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship winner CR Tuckernuck. Fast Prize Corona is a daughter Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner Fast First Prize. This is the direct family of broodmare of the year First Prize Dash.oi
