Super Select Sale Ends With Sensational Session

Good Candy P topped final night and sale at $340,000.





The Ruidoso Super Select Yearling Sale’s three-session run concluded on Sunday night with a new sale high seller and an sensational sale average

The entire sale averaged $46,580 per horse (sold), an 8.7-percent increase over the 2017 offering.

The Sunday night session averaged $51,739 per horse (sold), a 12.2-percent boost over the final night of the 2017 sale.

Leading the sale and the Sunday night offering was Good Candy P, a son of Good Reason SA and out of a stakes winning half-sister to champion and All American Futurity winner Jess Good Candy. The undefeated Jess Good Candy, an earner of $2,014,703,is also sired by Good Reason SA.

Good Candy P was consigned by Lazy E Ranch, LLC, agent for Michael Pohl and purchased by Don Cavenaugh.

On the final night, there were three yearlings purchased for $230,000 and eight yearlings brought at least $200,000.

Jessafamouslady sold for $230,000 on a bid from Reliance Ranches LLC. The filly was consigned by Grant Farms LLC. She is sired by Mr Jess Perry and out of Famous Corona Lady, the dam of Ruidoso Futurity third-place finisher Jest Famous.

Jess Sumokin Hot, a son of Apollitical Jess, changed hands for $230,000. Consigned by Roger Day, agent for Corner K Quarter Horses, he was bought by Paragon Farms LLC. The colt is out of the stakes winner and stakes-winning producer Sumokin, a half-sister to 2018 Ruidoso Futurity winner Blue Corazon.

The third $230,000 yearling was Mr Tres Points. He is a son of Mr Jess Perry and Tres Of Linda was consigned by Lazy E Ranch, agent for McColee Land and Livestock. The purchaser was Newman Cattle Company. Tres of Linda won three stakes, including the Grade 2 Charger Bar Handicap.
