More than 250 horses were entered in 42 training races spread over Monday through Wednesday (May 7-9) at Ruidoso Downs.
The 300-yard training races have a first post time of 8:30 a.m. daily.
These unofficial, non-betting races are designed to prepare two-year-olds for the trials to the Grade 1, $1 million (est.) Ruidoso Futurity on May 25-26, the first two days of the racing season at Ruidoso Downs.
There is no admission fee to watch the training races and everybody is welcome in the grandstand for this opportunity to evaluate the youngsters set to compete this summer at Ruidoso Downs.
