The 2019 Ruidoso Downs Race Track season opens Mother’s Day weekend and we’re excited you are here for the races!
You will find some major improvements at the race track this season that include extensive upgrades and renovations. They include a remodeled All American Turf Club top level, a completely remodeled Billy the Kid Casino and a new digital highway sign to welcome our visitors.
This marks the second year of the track’s new ownership group.
“Our initial renovations were more about infrastructure, but this season’s improvements are more about patron amenities and things that people can actually see and feel,” said Jeff True, Ruidoso Downs president and general manager.
The Turf Club renovation will become apparent to guests when they walk off the elevator. They will be greeted by new carpeting, paint, lighting, furniture and new, fresh décor. The renovated bar areas, including the horseshoe bar, have new countertops and bar stools.
Horse racing memorabilia from the Ruidoso Downs Racehorse Hall of Fame and racing museum adorn a new display case near the elevator. The case accents the entry and presents a visual connection to great horses and people from racing’s past.
The Billy the Kid Casino improvements will be a direct benefit to players through the improved gaming experience, enhanced atmosphere and improved rewards program. The casino has new carpeting, a new floor layout, and a total of approximately 150 new slot machines in the past year.
Billy’s Rewards Club Members are enjoying new promotions every month. This weekend begins our new promotion: A 2019 Jeep Wrangler will be given away on the Fourth of July. Players are also participating in a drawing Memorial Day weekend to win one of three barbecue grills to be given away.
A newly renovated, state-of-the-art sign greets people approaching Ruidoso Downs with high-resolution video boards showing the latest events and promotions.
