John Andreini

John Andreini was one of the four original partners in All American Ruidoso Downs LLC (AARD) started in 2017 and a member of the AARDF. He died on July 27, 2018, at age 92. From San Mateo, California, Andreini was the founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Andreini & Company. He started the company in 1951 and built it into one of the largest privately held insurance brokerage firms in the United States. Andreini began his activity in quarter horse racing in 1968. He was a director of the American Quarter Horse Association and a member of the AQHA racing council. He was also a board director of the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association and a partner in the Los Alamitos Equine Sale. His 2600-acre JL Ranch remains an influential operation in quarter horse racing.

He was also a lifelong advocate of higher education and always assisted students in their academic endeavors. Scholarship donations, 4H support and letters of recommendation were just a few of the ways that he emphasized that "there is no substitute for a formal education."
