Ruidoso Challenge Races - insightS from Ed Bugart

Handicapping Saturday's three Bank of America Racing Challenge qualifying races at Ruidoso Downs this Saturday becomes a bigger challenge than normal since weather forecasters are predicting a 60 percent chance of thundershowers.

In addition to looking for horses with solid prior past performance lines over wet surfaces, I will also apply basic handicapping techniques such as past class, prior video observations and key company lines in analyzing the Adequan® Ruidoso Derby Challenge, the John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge and the AQHA Ruidoso Distaff Challenge.

The winners of the aforementioned three races earn berths in their respective divisions on Bank of America Challenge Championship night October 23 at the Downs at Albuquerque.
