TRIPLE CROWN REPORT Presented by:

All American Post Positions are Selected For Triple-Crown Races at Ruidoso Downs

 

Post positions were drawn today for this weekend’s major stakes events at Ruidoso Downs including the $3 million All American Futurity, the $1.2 million All American Derby and the $715,000 All American Oaks.

      Two-year-old undefeated filly Dark NME, winner of the $1 million Rainbow Futurity and Remington Park’s $800,000 Oklahoma Breeder’s Futurity, has been made an even-money favorite to win the All American Futurity on Monday, September 4th. The filly will start in post position number-two and be ridden by jockey Francisco Calderon.

     Dark NME remains undefeated in six career starts for owner Willie Garcia and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. The filly broke the track record in winning the 400-yard Rainbow Futurity on July 16 in a time of 19.028 seconds.

Here is the lineup for Monday’s All American Futurity for two-year-olds with odds and post positions:

     Post positions were also selected for the $1.2 million All American Derby for three-year-olds to be run on Sunday.

     Sicario V and jockey Calderon, winner of this season’s $800,000 All American Derby, was made the 5/2 morning line favorite and will be number-ten. Sicario V ran second in last season’s All American Futurity as a two-year-old and has won five career races in eleven starts. The gelding is owned by Valeriano Racing and trained by Carrizales Jr.

Finally, post positions were selected for the $715,000 All American Oaks for three-year-old fillies. The 5/2 morning line favorite is Cool Ya Jets and jockey Calderon who will be number-five.

 Cool Ya Jets is a supplemental entry into the Oaks, having won the $145,000 Louisiana Breeder’s Oaks. The filly is owned by Pete Scarmardo and trained by John Stinebaugh.

The All American races will be seen nationwide on the Cowboy Channel this weekend. Post time for Sunday’s Oaks will be 4:10 p.m., and the Derby post time is 4:50 p.m. Monday’s Futurity is scheduled for 4:50 p.m.
