All American Weekend Wraps Up Racing Season At Ruidoso Downs Race Track

Ruidoso Downs Race Track’s final weekend of the 2023 racing season includes four Grade-1 stakes events including the $3 million All American Futurity, the $1.2 million All American Derby, the $715,000 All American Oaks and the $250,000 All American Gold Cup.

     Post time for the races Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be Noon each day. Seating at the race track is at capacity with limited tickets still available at www.raceruidoso.com or telephone the box office at 575-378-4140.

     Televised coverage of the All American races will be on the Cowboy Channel Sunday and Monday afternoon hosted by Tom Dawson. The broadcast begins at 4 p.m. Mountain Time.

     Here is the lineup for Monday’s All American Futurity for two-year-olds with odds and post positions:

    The All American Futurity is the 10th race on Monday’s card and features even-money favorite Dark NME, winner of the $1 million Rainbow Futurity July 16. The filly is undefeated in six lifetime starts having also won Remington Park’s Oklahoma Breeder’s Futurity on April 22.

     Monday’s races will also include the All American Gold Cup featuring the 2021 All American Futurity winner KJ Desparado and Bomb Cyclone, winner of the 2022 Los Alamitos Derby. Both are considered to be among the richest and fastest older horses in quarter horse racing today. The Gold Cup is the 8th race on Monday with post time scheduled for 3:36 p.m.

     The All American Oaks features 5/2 morning line favorite Cool Ya Jets, winner of the Louisiana Oaks at Delta Downs July 15. The Oaks is the 9th race on Sunday’s card scheduled at 4:10 p.m.

     Ruidoso Downs opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday and tickets are required for admission. 

      Meanwhile, the annual Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale continues on Saturday and Sunday and begins immediately following the races. The public is invited to attend the auction being held in the sales pavilion.
