Fine Am Eye Wins Vista Distaff Stakes At Ruidoso Downs Racetrack

(Ruidoso Downs, NM) Fine Am Eye and jockey Noe Garcia Jr. broke on top and held off the field to win the $50,000 Vista Distaff Stakes for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares Saturday at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack.

The five-year-old mare has won the annual running of the Vista Stakes twice in a row for Backdoor Thoroughbreds and owner Chuck Sonnenberg. Fine Am Eye won for the ninth time in her career out of 24 starts compiling earnings of over $250,000.

Trained by JJ Gonzales III, Fine Am Eye ran 350-yards in 17.854 seconds paying $8.00, $4.60 and $3.80. The mare is sired by Eye Am King out of the mare Starsmith by Tres Seis.
