First Cartel Powwer Fastest in Trials For $100,000 Ruidoso Maiden Stakes

SUNDAY, JUNE 1

(Ruidoso Downs, NM) First Cartel Powwer held off Thrillas by a nose in the closest race of the day to qualify with the fastest time during trials for the $100,000 Ruidoso Maiden Stakes.

With Jockey Ricky Ramirez, the gelding ran 350-yards in 17.508 seconds. First Cartel Powwer is sired by Favorite Cartel out of the mare Girl Power by Mr Jess Perry. He is owned by Carlos Luhan of Rancho El 48 and trained by James Gonzales III.

First Cartel Powwer won the first race and paid $5.00, $2.40 and $2.10. The final of the Ruidoso Maiden Stakes will be Saturday, June 14.
