Yearling Double Pour Top Seller at NM-Bred Sale

MONDAY, AUGUST 17

(Ruidoso Downs, NM) Double Pour, a sixteen-month-old sorrel gelding, was sold to CHR Racing’s Juan Carlos Ramos of Odessa, Texas on Saturday for $180,000 at the New Mexico-bred Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse Sale that was held at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack Saturday.

The gelding was consigned by MJ Farms of Veguita, New Mexico. Mac and Dr. Janis Murray raised Double Pour on their ranch. The top-seller is sired by Eye Am King out of the mare Tangled Vines by Dash To Fame. Considered one of the top quarter horse studs in the nation, 2025 All American Futurity champion King of the Tide is also sired by Eye Am King.

The total of 269 state-bred thoroughbreds and quarter horses were sold at the auction for total revenue of $4.872 million. The average individual sale price was $18,110.
