DEE FAVORITE TACHA TOP QUALIFIER IN DAY-TWO TRIALS FOR $1 MILLION RUIDOSO FUTURITY AT RUIDOSO DOWNS

Dee Favorite Tacha (Dulce Sin Tacha-Dee Favorite Girl) broke sharply and led throughout the third trial race today at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack to qualify for the finals of the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity with the fastest time of the day, 17.816 seconds.

“Ever since day-one the horse has been showing his talent,” co-owner and trainer Ricardo Armendariz Jr. said. “We feel like we have some fast contenders on our ranch, so coming over we thought we had the horse.”

The gelding won by one-length covering 350-yards in 17.816 seconds with jockey Jesse Levario aboard. The two-year-old is co-owned by Armendariz Jr. and Eric Pineda. The gelding was purchased at the Ruidoso Select sale for $25,000. Dee Favorite Tacha paid $12.60, $4.80 and $3.80.

Other quarter horses that qualified today included:

Russ Guss (Apollitical Jess-Rocket Seis) and jockey Luis Martinez came from behind in the final strides to upset the field in the fifteenth trial race to win by one-and-a-quarter-lengths in a time of 17.836 seconds for owner Daniel Miranda and trainer Xavier Rodriguez.

Preying N Sinning (Dulce Sin Tacha-Prey by Panther Mountain) and jockey Christian Cardenas scored an easy win in the thirteenth trial race by one-and-a-quarter-lengths in a time of 17.929 seconds. The colt is owned by Jorge Vasquez and trained by Alberto Amperan.

Allegiant Air (Favorite Cartel-Eagle On The Fly) and jockey Ricky Ramirez held off the field by one-length to win the tenth trial in a time of 17.948 seconds. The filly is owned by Norman Allen and trained by Trey Wood.

Lareda (Flying Cowboy 123-Ms Kates Angel) is the second qualifier for the Trey Wood barn after finishing second in the third trial race. The filly is owned by Gene and Tod Bradley with jockey Ramirez aboard.

The five qualifying horses advanced to the final to be held on Sunday, June 8th.
