Gf Shes Sinful Breaks ABQ Track Record, Becomes Top Qualifier for $1 Million All American Derby

(Albuquerque, NM) The filly Gf Shes Sinful broke the 440-yard track record at the Downs of Albuquerque on Sunday by winning her trial race for the $1 million All American Derby for three-year-old quarter horses in 20.541 seconds for 440-yards.

The previous record was 20.708 seconds, set by three-year-old Posies Woodette on November 14, 2010. With jockey Noe Garcia Jr. aboard, the filly pulled-away to win the eleventh race by two-and-a-half lengths for All In Partners, a group of ten individuals that have an ownership share in the horse for trainer Wes Giles, led by Ezra Lee of Ignacio, Colorado.

Gf Shes Sinful won the Grade-1 Ruidoso Derby in Albuquerque on June 6, and finished second in the Grade-1 Rainbow Oaks on July 11. The filly is sired by Dulce Sin Tacha out of the mare Bf Fooserageous by Foose and has won six of nine career races. She paid $2.20, $2.10 and $2.10.

Political Twist defeated King of the Tide in the much-anticipated tenth race rematch between the one-two finishers in last year’s All American Futurity. Both qualified for the All American Derby final. Political Twist covered the 440-yards in 20.755 seconds to become the second-fastest qualifier of the day. Midnight Smokin ran second to also qualify while King of the Tide finished third.

Political Twist, the AQHA two-year-old champion for 2025, has now won nine of eleven career races for owners Javier Rodriguez and Ray Willis. The three-year-old won the Rainbow Derby in Albuquerque on July 11. His sire is Apollitical Jess out of the mare C Twister Seis by Tres Seis and paid $2.40, $210 and $2.10

Full Moon desire fastest in trials for $700 all american oaks

Full Moon Desire and jockey Juan Pulido ran the fastest time in qualifying for the $700,000 All American Oaks, winning the fourth race in a time of 20.850 seconds for 440-yards. The filly is owned by Juan Lozano Jr. and trained by Heber Deyla-Melandez.

Her connections supplemented the filly into the All American Oaks trials following her win in the Evangeline Downs Futurity on December 25 last year, and a second-place finish in the Retama Park Stakes on July 24.

Full Moon Desire is sired by Chilitos out of the mare Mystical Desire by Desirio. She has won five of eight career races and paid $2.40, $2.10 and $2.10.
